Ingredients
8–10 fresh soursop leaves (or 5–6 dried leaves)
4 cups (1 liter) filtered water
1 small cinnamon stick (optional)
2–3 thin slices of fresh ginger (optional)
Juice of ½ lemon (optional)
1 teaspoon honey (optional)
—
Step 1: Select the Leaves
Choose healthy green soursop leaves free from mold, insect damage, or discoloration.
—
Step 2: Wash Thoroughly
Rinse each leaf under cool running water to remove dust and debris. Pat dry with a clean towel.
—
Step 3: Prepare the Leaves
Tear or cut the leaves into smaller pieces. This helps release their natural flavor during brewing.
—
Step 4: Boil the Water
Pour 4 cups (1 liter) of filtered water into a saucepan and bring it to a rolling boil.
—
Step 5: Add the Leaves
Reduce the heat to low and add:
Soursop leaves
Cinnamon stick (optional)
Ginger slices (optional)
—
Step 6: Simmer
Allow the mixture to simmer gently for 15–20 minutes, until the liquid is slightly reduced and aromatic.
—
Step 7: Steep
Remove the pot from the heat, cover it with a lid, and let the tea steep for 10–15 minutes.
—
Step 8: Strain
Pour the tea through a fine-mesh strainer into a teapot or pitcher, removing all the leaves and spices.
—
Step 9: Add Flavor
If desired, stir in:
Fresh lemon juice
Honey (only if appropriate for your dietary needs)
—
Step 10: Serve
Enjoy the tea warm, or chill it in the refrigerator and serve over ice.
—
Storage
Store in a clean, airtight glass container in the refrigerator.
Best consumed within 48 hours.
Suggested Serving
