Ingredients
8–10 fresh Cuban oregano leaves
2½ cups (600 ml) water
1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger (optional)
1 teaspoon honey (optional)
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice (optional)
1 small cinnamon stick (optional)

Step 1: Harvest Fresh Leaves
Choose healthy, bright green leaves. Pick about 8–10 medium-sized leaves.

Step 2: Wash Thoroughly
Rinse the leaves under cool running water to remove dirt or insects.

Step 3: Prepare the Leaves
Pat the leaves dry and tear or chop them into smaller pieces to release their natural aroma.

Step 4: Boil the Water
Bring 2½ cups of water to a rolling boil in a saucepan.

Step 5: Add the Ingredients
Reduce the heat and add:
The chopped Cuban oregano leaves
Ginger (if using)
Cinnamon stick (if using)

Step 6: Simmer
Allow the mixture to simmer gently for 10–15 minutes.

Step 7: Steep
Turn off the heat, cover the pot, and let the tea steep for another 10 minutes.

Step 8: Strain
Pour the tea through a fine strainer into a mug or teapot, removing the leaves and spices.

Step 9: Flavor
Stir in honey and lemon juice while the tea is warm, if desired.

Step 10: Serve
Drink warm, or let it cool and serve over ice.

Storage
Refrigerate in a sealed container for up to 2 days.
Reheat gently before drinking if preferred.
