π Ginger, Lemon & Turmeric Collagen-Support Drink
π₯€ Ingredients
- 1 cup (240 ml) warm or room-temperature water
- Β½ fresh lemon, juiced
- 1β2 inches (2.5β5 cm) fresh ginger
- ΒΌ teaspoon turmeric powder or Β½β1 teaspoon freshly grated turmeric
- 1 teaspoon honey, optional
- A small pinch of black pepper, optional
- Β½ cup fresh orange juice, optional, for a sweeter and more vitamin-C-rich version
- A few ice cubes, if you prefer it cold
π©βπ³ How to Make It
1. Prepare the ginger
Wash and peel the fresh ginger. Grate it finely or slice it into thin pieces.
2. Make the ginger infusion
Add the ginger to 1 cup of hot water and let it steep for about 5β10 minutes. Allow it to cool slightly.
3. Add turmeric
Stir in the turmeric until it is well combined.
4. Add lemon
Squeeze in the fresh lemon juice. Adding lemon after the water has cooled slightly gives the drink a fresher flavor.
5. Add the optional ingredients
Mix in honey if you want some sweetness. A tiny pinch of black pepper can be added for flavor.
6. Make it orange-style
For the bright yellow-orange drink shown in the picture, add Β½ cup of fresh orange juice and stir well.
7. Serve
Drink immediately, either warm or over ice.
β° When to Drink It
You can enjoy one glass a day, preferably with or after a meal if acidic drinks bother your stomach.
β¨ Why These Ingredients Are Used
- Lemon & orange: provide vitamin C, which is needed for normal collagen production.
- Ginger: adds a spicy flavor and contains naturally occurring antioxidant compounds.
- Turmeric: contains curcumin and is commonly used as a spice with antioxidant properties.
- Honey: adds natural sweetness but is completely optional.
- Water: contributes to normal hydration, although drinking more water alone does not directly tighten loose skin.
β οΈ Important
If you take blood-thinning medication, have gallbladder problems, significant acid reflux, or have been advised to limit turmeric or acidic foods, check with your healthcare professional before drinking this regularly.
For skin firmness after 60, the most evidence-based approach is broader: adequate protein, vitamin-C-rich foods, sun protection, not smoking, good sleep, and appropriate skincare can support healthy aging skin.
