Avocado Seed Tea

🥑 Avocado Seed Tea

Ingredients

  • 1 fresh avocado seed
  • 2 cups (about 500 ml) water
  • 1 small piece of fresh ginger — optional
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon — optional
  • A little honey — optional, added after cooling

Preparation

  1. Wash the avocado seed thoroughly.
  2. Remove the outer skin if it comes off easily.
  3. Cut the seed into small pieces carefully with a sturdy knife, or grate it instead. The seed is very hard, so take care not to cut yourself.
  4. Place the pieces in a saucepan with about 2 cups of water.
  5. Bring to a gentle boil.
  6. Reduce the heat and simmer for approximately 10–15 minutes.
  7. Turn off the heat and let it steep for another 5–10 minutes.
  8. Strain the liquid well.
  9. If desired, add a little ginger, cinnamon, or honey for flavor.

☕ How to serve

Drink it warm and freshly prepared. Do not treat it as a detox or as a replacement for cholesterol, heart, or pain medication.

⚠️ Important

There isn’t enough reliable human evidence to say that avocado-seed tea lowers cholesterol, cleanses the body, protects the heart, or relieves spinal/back pain. For those reasons, I wouldn’t recommend drinking it regularly or in large quantities. Pregnant or breastfeeding people, children, and anyone taking medication should avoid using avocado seed medicinally unless a healthcare professional says it is appropriate.
