DIY Anti-Aging Night Serum
This homemade skin serum uses moisturizing and soothing ingredients to hydrate the skin overnight and promote a smooth, radiant complexion.
Ingredients
- Cloves: 1 Tbsp (coarsely crushed or whole)
- Baby Oil: 3 Tbsp
- Aloe Vera Gel: 2 Tbsp
- Vitamin E Capsule: 1 capsule
- Rose Water: 1 Tbsp
- Glycerin: ½ Tbsp
Preparation Steps
- Infuse the Oil: In a small glass bowl, combine the cloves and baby oil. Let it sit for a few hours (or gently warm the mixture over low heat for 5–10 minutes without boiling) to allow the natural beneficial compounds of the cloves to infuse into the oil. Strain out the solid cloves.
- Mix Hydrating Ingredients: In a separate clean container, add the aloe vera gel, rose water, and glycerin. Stir thoroughly until smooth.
- Add Vitamin E: Pierce the Vitamin E capsule with a clean pin or pair of scissors and squeeze the liquid contents into the aloe vera mixture.
- Combine: Slowly pour the clove-infused baby oil into the aloe mixture, whisking or shaking vigorously until all ingredients are well combined into an emulsion.
- Storage: Transfer the liquid into a clean, airtight glass bottle or dropper bottle. Store in a cool, dark place.
How to Apply
- Cleanse your face thoroughly before bed.
- Apply 2 drops of the serum onto your palms and gently massage it into your facial skin using upward circular motions.
- Leave it on overnight and rinse with warm water in the morning.
Dermatological Safety Note: While DIY remedies can offer temporary hydration, no topical serum can reverse chronological aging or structural wrinkles overnight. Undiluted clove oil and essential oils can be potent skin irritants or allergens for sensitive skin. Always perform a patch test on your inner arm or wrist 24 hours prior to full facial application to check for redness, itching, or irritation.
